Why hardwood floors

You may ask yourselves; what is so special about hardwood floors and what makes them different from other flooring available on the market today?

Solid wood floors are natural and bring warmth, character and beauty to your home. With many finishes and ways of installing them, hardwood floors can be rugged, scraped, matte or glossy, and there are many types and colors of hardwoods that you can choose from. They add real value to your home. Solid hardwood floors will last a lifetime, where carpet and laminates may need replacing after just a few years. Hardwoods can be cleaned more thoroughly than carpet, which can help eliminate all irritating allergens and germs that can cause many health problems. Most importantly, they are durable and easy to care for.

Floating floors

Floating floor, also known as engineered floor, is constructed to look and feel like a hardwood floor, but it is made specifically for installations on concrete, in apartment buildings and, very often, home basements. Very easy to install, it can be a quick way to update a room or a whole house. Although floating floors have a layer of solid wood on top, the are not as long-lasting as solid hardwood floor - simply due to the fact that solid hardwood floors can be refinished many more times than floating floors. Still, the same as hardwood floors, floating floors are a great way to improve the look of your home or office.

Advantages of floating floors

  • Offers selection similar to hardwood selection.
  • Quicker to install.
  • Can be refinished (due to hardwood layer on top of an engineered surface).
  • Adds value to your home.
  • Long lasting.
  • Can be installed directly over concrete.
  • Easy to maintain.
